Also, doesn't the iPhone come with a dock anyway?

The bonus of the dock connector over a mini USB port is that some accessories can make good use of it as an output, displaying album artwork or high quality video and audio.

As for your contacts, going by my experience with my iPods it's a breeze to sync them - if you use Apple's address book in OSX. I never got round to trying it with my PC. Address book also syncs painlessly via bluetooth with my current Nokia phone, and I can even text from my computer via bluetooth. So switch to OSX, you'll be sorted! :)

As for your wish list, while some of the issues will be sorted via software updates and hardware revisions, I doubt you'll ever see a user replaceable battery, going on Apple's track record with iPods.

Proper playlist creation on the fly would be brilliant! On my iPod, I can create "on the go" playlists, but you have to add tracks one at a time and it's quite laborious. Can't you do that on the iPhone?Scoobydoofushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02364973493370299783noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2592963471313037101.post-67710623147501205892008-03-29T16:09:00.000+00:002008-03-29T16:09:00.000+00:00Excellent review! and I want an iPhone despite its...Excellent review! and I want an iPhone despite its failings - it is well out weighed by the things it got rightdbhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13638855265187886525noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2592963471313037101.post-60184598361061009402008-03-27T18:16:00.000+00:002008-03-27T18:16:00.000+00:00Good blog dude, Almost tempting me into getting o...Good blog dude, Almost tempting me into getting one of the damn things. Some follow up comments: Not iPhone-y, but as regards browsing, S60 browser scales across models, screen sizes, input very consistent.
Trackpad - Agree with your point, but as an adjunct the Nokia E60 "joystick",(much better than the replacement E61, BTW) works extremely slickly, like a mini-mouse
The iPod/iPhone proprietary connection has been around for a few years, with a strong eco-system (speaker systems, docks, etc) trumps mini-usb. No less a pain, but you aint going to get a "one ring to rule them all" answerUnknownhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06409678320002369770noreply@blogger.com
